WORKSHOP ONE
Perfect for Beginners and those who may have only covered the Waltz a couple of times in class. The pace will be gentle as we use some of the easier and more basic steps of the Waltz to show you how to lead and follow. There will be plenty of repetition and as you practise, we will be on hand to guide & support you.
WORKSHOP TWO
Ideal for those seeking to increase their understanding of the Waltz. We'll focus on teaching you how to lead and follow groups of steps and figures. This session is suitable for Improvers or confident Beginners ready to take their Waltz skills to the next level. Just as with the earlier workshop, there will be repetition and time to practise, and we're on hand to guide and support you too.

In regular classes, we focus on building your ability to progress around your dance floor confidently. During a regular class, the specific patterns we teach you are designed sequentially to enable you to focus on your partner and the steps you’re learning, eliminating any worries or distractions about potential obstacles you must navigate or having to react to your environment or the music.
Whilst initially we know this is the best way to teach people, moving you on from being able to simply 'perform' a predetermined group of steps is necessary if you want to improve. 'How To Lead & Follow' Workshops like these are perfect to create & build 'dancers' rather than 'performers'.
You're NOT learning routines during these sessions. Whilst some steps are taught during these sessions, this programme is developed in such a way that these steps are only used as a platform to share & communicate the important principles & the necessary dance grammar.

The Waltz offers a wonderfully effective platform for learning the key techniques of Leading and Following. This is due to its gentle tempo which gives you more time to absorb the information, build confidence and strengthen your understanding of how to move in harmony with a partner and become better dancers. The skills you learn are highly transferable across all Ballroom dances & even support certain elements within Latin styles too.
This makes it a brilliant session for strengthening your understanding of what it means to move confidently with another person while still thinking about timing, steps & the music.

Very Important: New Subjects Covered
This is suitable for EVERYONE! If you did, or didn't, join us on any of the other sessions, 95% of these upcoming workshops will cover NEW subjects that were NOT covered in the previous ones. HOWEVER, what's great about this programme of learning is the flexibility; these sessions are purposefully designed so that you can join us at any 'part' of the programme. This learning syllabus isn't sequential as this would be far too limiting.
Propel Your Ballroom Skills
These sessions are purposefully designed to propel your Ballroom skills to the next level encouraging and showing you how to lead & follow effectively.
During these sessions, Steven teaches & emphasises the importance of not only leading, but also listening to your partner's interpretation of your movements & ideas. Topics such as Micro Gestures, Proximity Impact & Decision Trees are all discussed too. Through an enjoyable nurturing process of trial & error, with a little gamification too, the followers will learn how to feel their leaders' guidance more effectively too.
The carefully structured programme of these sessions ultimately enhances your Ballroom skills. The positive impact on your overall dancing by improving your leading & following abilities is quite incredible. The return on investment in studying & committing to these concepts is amazing!

Couples and individuals are welcome to attend. Due to the style of this workshop, if you are a solo student we will try our best to find you a partner (we have had solo students buddy up for our previous workshops).
These workshops are capped to only 10 couples to maintain a safe and pleasant learning environment for everyone.
Each workshop is £11 per person.
