GDPR
General Data Protection Regulations 2018: GDPR was approved by the EU Parliament in 2016 and came into effect on 25th May 2018. GDPR states that personal data should be ‘processed fairly & lawfully’ and ‘collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes’, and that individuals' data is only processed with their explicit consent.
GDPR covers personal data relating to individuals. We're committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals with respect to the processing of students, visitors and staff personal data. Individuals have the right to know what information is held about them. We assure our students that personal information is handled properly at all times.
The right to be informed. At any point individuals can make a request relating to their data and we will provide a response within one month.
The right to erasure. You have the right to request the deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason for its continued use. We can refuse a request if we have a lawful obligation to retain data, but we will inform the individual of the reasons for the rejection.
The right to restrict processing. All students have the right to request that their contact details are not used for marketing, reminders or updates. Their contact details would only used in extreme circumstances, eg. to call their home due to an accident during a lesson. Should students invoke their right to restrict processing, there is no obligation to refund events, lessons missed, or cancelled due to ‘lack of communication'.
The right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling. Automated decisions and profiling are used for marketing-based organisations. We do not use personal data for such purposes.

- We do not disclose or sell personal data to third parties.
- We do not disclose personal data to other persons.
- Personal stored data is accessed via a password protected computer database, stored on a USB stick which, when not in use, is locked in a 'First Alert' portable, media fireproof lockbox that is stored in a dual-lock, impact-resistant safe.
The USB data can only be accessed via one set PC paired with the USB stick. That PC requires a Bios password before the system boots & a 16 digit password to access the main operating system.
Before the USB can be read, the pairing software requires the physical internet plug (RJ45) to be removed from the PC, followed by the virus scanner being updated before it commences a full scan of the solid state hard drive. Only then can your details be accessed.
- Cloud storage via Mailchimp or ConvertKit for our e-newsletter software is only be accessed from one PC. This PC requires a Bios password before the system boots and then a 16 digit password. Both Mailchimp and ConvertKit accounts also requires a password to access the emailing lists.
- Client contact details are stored on our phones and are protected with fingerprint, facial and password encryption.
- Hard copy information is is kept in a Dual-Lock, Impact-Resistant safe and destroyed by incineration when a customer no longer requires our services.
- Any and all videos or photos will not be taken nor published without client permission. Once published and/or no longer required, the images are deleted via evidence removal software rather than the operating system's standard deleting process.
