This Grade 2 listed mansion is just a few minutes south of Canterbury. The Regency Ballroom is an imposing room with a barrel vaulted ceiling, large bay windows, fine piped plaster mouldings, a wood burning stove and a Bechstein grand piano. The Ballroom was added to the mansion in the early 19th century to enable the visiting Prince Regent (George IV) to dance with his mistress, Lady Conyngham. The Ballroom overlooks the mixed borders, wood and parkland set within over 100 acres. Verbal tradition asserts that due to a bet at a party at which George IV was present, a white horse was jumped out of one of the ballroom windows.

The Theatre Royal is a Grade II listed theatre. The theatre was built in 1787 and remodelled in 1874 by J.T. Robinson. The structure of the earlier building partially remains, but Robinson drastically modified the theatre with the auditorium being compared to a smaller version of his earlier London Old Vic auditorium of 1871.
