The Perfect Mix
The Gala Evening is all about celebrating in style while keeping things relaxed & enjoyable for everyone.
There's no strict running order of dances here, just occasional suggestions; instead, let the night unfold as you dance & mingle at your leisure. Whether you prefer a lively jig on the dance floor or a cosy chat with friends, the atmosphere will be one of warmth & camaraderie.
There are plenty of opportunities for Ballroom & Latin dancing, Sequence & Line dancing, & a good ol' boogie too.

Bring A Guest
Whilst this isn't open to the general public, you are welcome to invite your partners or friends who don't usually attend our Dance Club! This is the perfect night to socialise, mingle & enjoy the atmosphere. Please ensure your guests understand the smart dress code.

To ensure the best experience for everyone, the seating plan is carefully curated. If you would like to sit with others, please let us know in advance.
Other Important Bits
Soft Drinks & Food: You are welcome to bring your own food & soft drinks.
Alcohol: There is a bar available at the venue where you can purchase alcohol (beer/lager is not on draft). You're not allowed to bring your own alcohol.
Free Parking: The upper car parks around The Herne Centre (drive through the public car park and up the ramp) have 14 places (please use the Disabled/Parish assigned places as we are the only people in the hall). The public car park is free after 4pm; the local residents park here too, so it will get busy.
Safety: Please do not chew gum at our events. Please do not use French chalk or talcum powder on your dance shoes. This is dangerous to other students, invalidates our public liability, & goes against our venue terms of use.
Attendees: This event is held for active Dance Club members & their guests only. By active, we simply mean students who are currently dancing with us in classes, private lessons or workshops. Naturally, this includes students who may have been away on holiday or unwell for a short while.

Strictly no Jeans or chinos* (Yes, really!) While the atmosphere is relaxed, we still take pride in a 'somewhat traditional' dance etiquette, especially at this event type.
Please, no t-shirts, shorts, trainers.
Whilst no ties or bow ties are strictly required, due to the nature of the event, it would be appreciated if the gentlemen were to wear them.

TICKET FEES
£19 per person: Please let us know who you would like to sit with & we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Tickets are non-refundable, nor transferable. Once tickets have been requested, payment is due within 48 hours to secure your place. No tickets will be issued; your name will be added to a guest list.

Ticket Booking T&Cs
- Please do not arrive to any events without giving us advance notice.
- Non-refundable payment in advance is necessary to secure your place.
- Contact Maggie for bank transfer details.
(a) Please only request tickets if you know you can attend.
(b) Once tickets have been requested, payment is due within 48 hours to secure your place.
(c) Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to any other event or person(s).
(d) Payment within 48 hours is each individual's responsibility. Reminders to pay within the specified 48-hour time period will not be issued.
(e) Some individuals may unfortunately discover their tickets have been sold if they fail to pay within 48 hours*.
(f) No tickets will be issued. Names are added to an attendance list.
(g) We accept payment in person or via bank transfer.**
(h) Please do not make payment until your booking has been confirmed.
*Section (e): exceptions are made for those who contact us to inform us of a reason for delayed payment. A date for payment will then be agreed upon.
**PLEASE let Maggie know when you make a bank transfer and the bank reference you have given. She will then confirm receipt of funds with you.
