about the charity
We all have charities that our close to our hearts for various reasons. In the past we've asked members of our Dance Club to suggest a charity (local or national) when we hold charity events. As you can imagine, we're inundated with suggestions & it's always difficult to notify those whose worthy cause has not been selected.
Moving forward, we have decided a fantastic to solution to this would be to support the Cornwallis Charity.
The charity's aim is "to support East Kent communities by providing financial help & relief for charities, voluntary organisations & individuals in need".
Since being formed in 2014, a total of £431,622 has been donated to local East Kent causes. Some of the more recent include...
Clinical Trial Unit At QEQM: £22,000
Air Cadets: £1,300
Ben Johnson Forget Me Not Foundation (Blood Cancer): £500
Beams (supports disabled children & their families in Kent): £5,000
Kent MS Therapy Centre: £1,500
Deal Foodbank: £500
Pegasus Playscheme (for children with rare & complex disabilities): £1,500
Emmaus (supports people to work their way out of homelessness): £2,000.
As you can see from the examples above, the reach of this support makes it a fair solution that the money we raise at our events is offered to various important causes. As many of you will know, Steven is a Freemason. The Cornwallis Charity is run by East Kent Freemasons & a number of the gentlemen at our Dance Club are associated with helping this charity.
