This level is perfect for those with little or no dance experience. You will learn the basic steps of a variety of dances, gaining the ability to socially dance each of them. Your coordination will improve as you link moves together and find comfort and confidence with a partner. In the beginner classes we teach all the Ballroom and Latin American dances except Samba, Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz. These three dances are reserved for our Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate classes.

Our Pre-Intermediate Classes are suitable for those who have been dancing for at least a year, and for those who wish to build upon the basic steps and techniques learnt in our beginner classes, whilst continuing to expand their social dancing abilities. At this level we also introduce the Latin American Jive, Samba, Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz.

Our Intermediate Classes are suitable for those who have been dancing for at least two years. You will continue to build upon the techniques learnt in our previous two levels with more challenging choreography and enhance your knowledge of dance terminology.

Adult Only Dance Club

The minimum age of our club members must be 18 years. There is no maximum age.

Attendance Policy

Attendance in the class is participatory. Students who are dancing often feel self-conscious and uncomfortable in the presence of observers. Friends and family are welcome to watch you dance during either the first or last 5 minutes of your class.

What To Wear & Bring

Wearing whatever you feel comfortable in is important. Bring a small drink to class if you like. Wear comfortable and sensible shoes (no flip flops, bare feet or stiletto heels that may damage the floor). Whilst some members wear dance shoes, we recommend that you may like to get some once you have really got the dancing bug. Please do not add chalk or powder to the soles of your shoes.

Weather Policy

The Dance Club will NOT close due to poor weather conditions unless Steven feels it is unreasonable for students to travel in such weather. More details on our weather policy page.

Health & Safety Policy

Our Dance Club welcomes everyone and provides a safe environment for all its members. Your health and safety is of the upmost importance to us. If any teacher feels that a student is unwell, or feels uncomfortable teaching the student, the teacher may discontinue tuition. If this is necessary, the student will be given a full refund for that lesson. Teachers at the dance club are qualified teachers of dance but are not qualified to assess whether they should teach a student whose reasonable physical or mental state is questionable or causes any concern to the teacher. We do not want to make any condition worse through our tuition. The dance club has a number of pupils with various health issues who have a note from their GP confirming they can attend dance lessons. If a student has any health issues that concerns the teacher, the student will be asked to provide a medical note. Once you have obtained a note from your GP our teachers will be more than happy to continue your tuition.
